What personal qualities do I need to succeed in the ANZ Generalist Bankers Program?

In addition to having exceptional future leadership potential and a great track record of achievement, you’ll need to be very self-reliant. Candidates also need to have a strong desire to build generalist banking skills. Participants on the ANZ Generalist Bankers Program are rotated every six months into a different area of ANZ to develop core generalist banking knowledge and skills. You must be capable of adjusting quickly to new circumstances, and able to be productive in new roles after a short period of time.

If I’m successful in applying for the 2011 ANZ Generalist Bankers Program, when do I start?

You must be ready to commence in the role full-time from February 2011.

Who covers the costs associated with the selection process of the ANZ Generalist Bankers Program?

Any travel or other costs associated with your participation in the Generalist Bankers Program assessment centre are borne by you. If you progress to an interview and need to travel this will be managed for you by ANZ.

I have received notification I was unsuccessful for the program. Why would I have been unsuccessful?

A comprehensive process is used to consider all candidates. This incorporates reviewing and taking into consideration all aspects of the application information you submitted, including your written application and psychometric assessments. It is an extremely competitive process with a large volume of talented people applying for a limited number of positions.

If I was unsuccessful for the program, can I reapply in a subsequent year?

Yes, we encourage you to re-apply in future years. The Generalist Bankers program is an ongoing program and although you may not be successful in one intake, with further development and consistent high performance you may be successful in future years.
